| This book is an excellent introduction to Thai massage, and with its companion Part II (Thai Traditional Massage for Advanced Practitioners) includes clear instructions and excellent BW photographs of various techniques. East meets West in methodical thinking and presentation. Asokananda is the acquired name of Harald Brust, a German, who runs a massage school in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Although I attended a massage school in Chiang Mai that was not his, this book includes all the general basics of northern Thai massage, theory, philosophy and practice. (Asokananda's books are published by DK Books in Chiang Mai, Editions Duang Kamol) |

| Asokananda has presented a thorough and precise book that is a must as a base for all Thai therapy. Not only does his work stand timeless, but he is approachable and interested in bringing the Art of this work to the world. Wonderful as a resource. He travels the world bringing Thai Therapy to all who are interested, even coming to Chicago, IL 2006! |
